Iceland 2

We left the west coast of Iceland and headed east toward the central area called the Golden Circle. This fertile area is the center of their agricultural (sheep, cattle and crops) production.

We went to an amazing restaurant inside a giant greenhouse powered by geothermal energy. That complex grows 60% of tomatoes consumed in Iceland. They served big bowls of tomato soup with a fresh basil plant on every table so you could spice it to-taste. And with all those tomatoes you can bet the bloody Mary cocktails were primo.

We spent a day on Thorsmork National Park - the place was spectacular in every corner. Plus, we had grilled hotdogs for lunch!!
