On a beautiful cool day here in Florida, I hopped aboard an Uber to the RV farm to collect the rig. After signing about 35 forms they handed over the keys to my new adventure-mobile. The people at La Mesa RV have been friendly, flexible and helpful - they sell about 7,000 units a month... you can tell they know what they're doing.
The adventure-mobile is built by Winnebago for off-road boondocking (camping without site or services). It is tall and shiny and looks rugged. It appeals to people who imagine themselves the same way.
People feel free to just stop me and ask questions about the rig - what is it? is it 4-wheel-drive? how good is the diesel mileage? How many will it sleep? Luckily, I was fairly warned by my research about this gawking phenomenon. And having been an owner of corgis for decades, I am well prepared to act as a tour guide. So, it seems that I am an ambassador for boondock camping with a tricked-out love-child vehicle made by a Mercedes Sprinter papa and Winnebago Trovato mama.
We made it home and got it parked without incident. Now the real learning begins... what does this button do?

Thast looks like a great vehicle, Maria. And I love the Don Quixote refere3nce. I am re-reading Travels with Charley and love the reference to Don's imagined lady friend.
